Kadin Ray limited Trigg County to a pair of hits and his Muhlenberg County teammates gave him an eight-run seventh inning to help the Mustangs to a 15-0 win over the Wildcats Monday at the Complex.

Ray needed only 73 pitches to get the complete game shutout. He struck out five and walked just once.

At the plate, Ray had a double and was hit four times by Wildcat pitchers. Ray led off the second inning getting hit, stole second, and scored on a Trigg error. He was hit again in the fourth inning with the bases loaded as part of a three-run inning.

Muhlenberg County had five hits as part of its eight-run seventh and was helped by two of Trigg’s four errors in the game.

Logen Thomas had three hits and four RBI for Muhlenberg, who improved to 14-9. Madox Jernigan added three hits from the No. 9 spot in the batting order.

Mac McCormick gave Trigg a two-out double in the fourth inning but he was stranded. It was another less-than-stellar night on the basepaths for Trigg, who ran into a double play and was thrown out trying to steal twice by Muhlenberg catcher Eli DeBoer.

Trigg County (8-11) will look to shake off the loss Tuesday with a district game at Lyon County as they try and snap an eight-game losing streak to the Lyons dating back to 2018.
