
The Caldwell County Tiger baseball team bounced back from Monday’s All A Classic sectional loss in a big way.
Just one day after falling 6-1 at Paducah St. Mary, the Tigers traveled to Hopkins County Central and rolled to a 16-0 win in four innings in 7th District action.
Caldwell (13-8 overall, 2-1 district) used nine base hits, eight walks and two hit batters to pile up 16 runs.
Meanwhile, eighth grade left-hander Ari Wells shut out the Storm on just one base hit. Wells struck out nine and walked two.
Offensively, Brady Holeman was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and five runs batted in during the contest. Collin Whittington went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs.
Hopkins Central (2-14, 1-4) was hurt by seven errors.
The Tigers have taken their last 14 meetings with the Storm.
Caldwell lead the all-time series 43-15.
The two teams are scheduled to meet again Thursday, but this time at the VFW Ballpark in Princeton.
