Alexsa Hoffman has approached everything in her life head-on whether it’s athletics, academics, or her involvement in groups and clubs at Fort Campbell High School.

Set to graduate in a month, Hoffman still has three weeks left in her softball season and an important decision on where to attend college.

Hoffman has maintained no less than a 3.5 GPA in high school and used her resume to apply to 20 colleges and universities. She has been offered over $400,000 in scholarships and grants to continue her education.

But first, a combination of athletics and clubs keeps her busy.

Hoffman is a student council member, was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, and is a key member of the Fort Campbell junior ROTC. She also helps new students to Fort Campbell make the transition to their new school.

Since arriving at Fort Campbell herself, Hoffman has played golf and volleyball and was a key member of Fort Campbell’s swim team that finished in third place at the region meet – the school’s best-ever finish in the pool. Hoffman competed in two events and was a relay member in two more.

This spring, she is a starting outfielder for the Lady Falcon softball team where she is among the team leaders in hits, runs, and stolen bases and leads the squad in runs batted in.

So how does she balance everything?

“I just maintain a schedule and figure out what works best for me,” she said.

Most important to her has been the support of family on post.

“It means everything to me to see them at games because they’ve watched me grow up playing sports. It’s what I revolve around,” Hoffman said. “ They push me through my hardest times. They support me and take care of me. That’s all I could ask for.”

But that’s also the mindset of a military child – appreciate the support and adapt to your surroundings.

“It’s still hard at times and, no doubt, it’s going to be hard when I do leave for college, but I’m sure being a military child will help me adapt quickly,” she said.

Hoffman would like to enter the sports management field and work as a coach or manage sporting events because of her extensive background in athletics.

So where will that be? Hoffman has many good options that will set her up for success in the future. Anyone who spends time with her knows that success will come.
