The UHA Blazers pounded out 14 hits on Wednesday to play spoiler on senior night at Fort Campbell, downing the Falcons 17-4 to complete a season sweep over their 8th-District rivals.

The Blazers made it 34 straight wins in the series dating back to the Falcons’ last victory in 2006, improving to 9-5 on the season.  Fort Campbell lost for the first time in three outings to slip to 4-17.

A four-run 1st got things started for the Blazers, taking advantage of a pair of Falcon errors and a two-run single by Jackson Flynn against Fort Campbell starter Aidan Blaszkowski.

Gavin LaRonge made it 5-0 in the 2nd with an RBI single, and the Blazers tacked on three more runs in the 4th on a run-scoring double by Jaiden Miles and Ben Stone’s two-out RBI single.

Ryan Luckey’s two-run double put UHA on the brink of a mercy-rule victory, but the Falcons answered with three runs in the bottom of the 5th to extend the game.

Miles cruised through the first four innings on the mound for the Blazers, not allowing a hit and striking out six with one walk before giving way to Nic Luckey.

Colton Ramos greeted Luckey with a single for the Falcons’ first hit of the night, and a pair of runs came home on a wild pitch and an error.  Jayden Swann continued his strong season at the plate, doubling to drive in his 14th run of the year.

But that would be it for the Falcons, and the Blazers poured it on with a seven-run, two-out rally in the top of the 6th.  Ian Tyler drove in a pair with a double, and Flynn added his third RBI with a single.  Ryan Luckey followed with an RBI single, LaRonge doubled in a run, and Miles capped the inning with an RBI single.

Miles earned his first win of the season on the mound and had a pair of hits and two RBI.  Ryan Luckey, Tyler, and Flynn each drove in three runs, and LaRonge and Stone each finished with two hits and two RBI.

Blaszkowski took the loss for the Falcons, allowing nine runs, one earned, on eight hits with a pair of walks and a strikeout.  Ethan Egner came on in the 5th and surrendered eight earned runs on six hits with two walks and a strikeout.

The Blazers are scheduled to travel to Russellville on Thursday before hosting Webster County on Saturday.

Fort Campbell will be on the road in Clarksville on Thursday for a doubleheader with Kenwood.
