A former Hopkinsville Tiger basketball standout will get the chance to finish out his college career in the Southeastern Conference. Jamarion Sharp announced via social media post Thursday that he would play his final year at Ole Miss.
The 7-5 Sharp played two years at Western Kentucky University after starting his career at John A. Logan College.
During his time with the Hilltoppers, Sharpe played in 64 games, starting in 60 of those. He averaged 7.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest during two seasons for WKU.
Sharp is one of the premier shot-blockers in the country, rejecting 279 shots in two season on ‘The Hill.’
During the 2022-2023 season, Sharp led the nation in blocks and blocks per game. He broke WKU’s career blocks record on January 16 against FIU, his 50th game as a Hilltopper.
Sharp was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, All-Defensive Team and Third Team All-Conference.
