Kentucky softball took down Eastern Kentucky University, 10-2, for their second consecutive win on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lady Wildcats got off to a hot start by taking a 3-1 lead after the first inning. The two teams traded runs in the second and third inning before Kentucky sealed the victory with a 6-run fifth inning.
Though it was only for two innings, UK had to be thrilled to see Stephanie Schoonover return to the mound on Wednesday afternoon. She had been out a month and is a critical piece of Kentucky’s pitching staff, so it’s great news for the Lady Wildcats to have her back.
Kentucky will have a quick turnaround when they head to Starkville on Friday for a weekend matchup against Mississippi State.
