A long first inning was too much for the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons to overcome Friday evening. Clarksville Northeast plated 13 runs in the bottom of the first on their way to a 16-1 win over the Lady Falcons.
The Lady Falcons led briefly in the game. Carrie McCrary drove in a run with a single to right in the top of the first, giving the Lady Falcons a 1-0 lead.
Then, the floor fell out in the bottom half of the inning. A combination of timely hits, along with seven walks and four hit batters, allowed Northeast to ring up 13 runs and seize full control of the game.
Northeast would close the game out with three runs in the bottom of the third to bring the 15-run rule into play.
Five different Lady Falcons had a hit in the game. Ryleigh Watry, Carrie McCrary, Hailey Herron, Kiley McCrary, and Tristin Caldwell had one hit each for Fort Campbell.
The Lady Falcons are back in action Saturday when they travel to Fort Knox.
