Hoptown Softball Makes Quick Work of Dawson Springs

The Hopkinsville softball team squeezed 15 runs out of five hits to dispatch visiting Dawson Springs in three innings on Friday and complete a season sweep over the Lady Panthers.

Ruby Duskey’s RBI single highlighted a nine-run 1st for the Lady Tigers, including six runs on passed balls.

Bailee Ladson added an RBI single, and three more runners crossed home plate on passed balls to give Hoptown a 15-0 lead after two innings.

Shaniyah Straight limited Dawson Springs to only two hits over three innings to earn her fifth win in the circle.

Macy Drennan took the loss for the Lady Panthers after giving up nine runs, eight earned, with five walks and two hits.  Natalee Oldham came on to work one inning in relief, surrendering six runs, five earned, on three hits with a pair of walks and a strikeout.

Hopkinsville improved to 6-8 and will host Kenwood, TN, on Tuesday.
