Turned out to be a long drive for a short game for the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons Saturday. Fort Campbell put up 14 runs in the top of the third inning on their way to a 22-3 road win at Fort Knox Saturday.
The Lady Falcon offense rapped out 15 hits and scored in all three innings of the game. In addition to the big third inning, Fort Campbell scored four runs in the first and four more in the second on their way to their highest run total since a 24-1 win at Fort Knox in May 2021.
Nadia Velez had a big game going 3-4 with a triple, three RBIs, and four runs scored. Kiley McCrary was 2-3 with a triple, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Emma Kolmerton ended up 3-4 with two RBIs. Ryleigh Watry went 3-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.
The Lady Falcons also received the benefit of six errors and six walks from the Lady Eagles.
In the circle, Carrie McCrary pitched three innings in picking up the win. She gave up three runs, none of them earned, on five hits, striking out three and walking four.
Fort Campbell improves to 5-12 with the win and will get back to action Tuesday when they host Hopkins County Central for Senior Night.
