Seniors Mitchell Green and Christian Jones weathered a rainy morning at the Region 1 bass fishing tournament on Saturday, finishing 16th to lead four Trigg County boats.
Green and Jones brought in five fish for a total weight of ten pounds, nine ounces, with the largest weighing in at one pound, 15 ounces. The duo advanced to the state tournament at Kentucky Lake in two weeks.
Thomas and Noah Hawkins finished 50th, hauling in two fish for a total of four pounds, seven ounces, followed by Avery Ethridge and Braxton Hargrove in 68th with one fish weighing two pounds, three ounces.
Grayson County’s River Blanton and Braeden Sadler won the region title with five fish for a whopping 16 pounds, three ounces, with a big bass of three pounds, eight ounces.
