The Trigg County Wildcat baseball team will have new leadership for the rest of the season. School officials announced Tuesday morning that Taylor Follis had been dismissed as head coach. No reason for the dismissal was given in a brief statement from the Trigg County High School Athletic Department.
During nearly two seasons on the job, Follis’ teams went 21-31. The 2022 Wildcats lost to Christian County in the opening round of the 2nd Region tournament.
In the statement, it was also announced that Jay Breckel had been named interim coach for the remainder of the baseball season. Trigg County’s next game is Wednesday night at home against Lyon County in a contest moved up from Thursday.
The high school baseball postseason is set to begin the week of May 15.
