With the regional tennis tournament just over a week away, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons have now positioned themselves as a contended to take the overall team title. The Lady Maroons made a statement Thursday evening with a 6-3 win over the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers in Madisonville.
The Lady Maroons took 4 of the 6 singles matches and two of the three doubles matches that were played. Hopkinsville was playing their matches without Allie Fort, which affected one of their top two singles seeds and left the Lady Tigers without their top-seeded doubles team.
