Adley Lewis had a two-run homer and Caldwell County held on to beat Crittenden County 5-4 Tuesday night in Marion.

Lewis finished the game 2-for-4 with a double and the two runs batted in. A.J. Hollowell went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs. Harper Holeman was 2-for-4 with an RBI triple as the Lady Tigers improved to 15-10.

Caldwell never trailed after Lewis’ two-run shot in the first, but could never put away the Lady Rockets either.

A two-run single by Elle McDaniel in the bottom of the fifth inning pulled Crittenden within 5-4.

But Alexis Wood blanked the Lady Rockets the rest of the way as Caldwell held on for the one-run victory.

Wood (12-7) allowed four earned runs on seven base hits in the contest. She struck out four and walked three.

After the home run by Lewis in the first, A.J. Hollowell had an RBI single in the second to put Caldwell up 3-1.

The Lady Tigers got their other two runs in the fourth. Hollowell drove in one run with a groundout, then Holeman tripled home another run. That gave Caldwell a 5-2 lead.

McDaniel was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in for Crittenden, which is now 9-15. Elliot Evans was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored.

Anna Boone suffered the pitching loss for the Lady Rockets. She allowed five earned runs on eight base hits. Boone struck out five and walked four.

Tuesday’s game was originally scheduled for Monday in Princeton, but was postponed due to wet field conditions. The Lady Rockets defeated Dawson Springs 20-1 in three innings prior to facing Caldwell.

Caldwell’s girls will play at home on Thursday when they host Marshall County.
