DraftKings Sportsbook has released its over/under numbers for the win totals for all 14 Southeastern Conference football teams for the 2023 season.
It was no surprise that the teams with the highest expectations for win totals were Georgia (11.5), Alabama (10.5) and LSU (9.5). That means if you bet the over on Georgia, the Bulldogs have to go 12-0 during the regular season for you to collect while if you take the over on Alabama, the Crimson Tide has to go 11-1 or 12-0.
Here are the complete over/under projections set by DraftKings Sportsbook:
Alabama 10.5
Arkansas 7.5
Auburn 6.5
Florida 5.5
Georgia 11.5
Kentucky 6.5
LSU 9.5
Mississippi State 6.5
Missouri 6.5
Ole Miss 7.5
South Carolina 6.5
Tennessee 9.5
Texas A&M 7.5
Vanderbilt 3.5
So what about the 6.5 projection for Kentucky? My guess is that most UK fans would think the “over” is the best bet with UK winning seven or more games in 2023. However, the Cats do have a lot of questions.
Steve Hassan of AthlonSports.com wrote a story on what he thought were the best bets for the upcoming season. He took the over on Kentucky as one of his best bets. Here’s why he made his pick:
“An offense that averaged only 20.4 points a game should see immediate improvement thanks to the return of Liam Coen as the team’s play-caller. Also, the Wildcats landed one of the top transfer quarterbacks in Devin Leary (NC State) to help an offense that already features one of the SEC’s top receiving corps.
“Catching Alabama and Mississippi State (road) in crossover play is tough, and coach Mark Stoops’ squad gets South Carolina and Vanderbilt on the road. However, between an improved offense and solid defense, the guess here is Kentucky should be able to claw its way to seven wins.”

Down here in Gatorland the natives are restless with the 5.5 over and under – if you read between the lines that sort of means UK will have to beat UF for the 3rd straight year !
I personally don’t think we’ll beat our O/U without a win over the Gators – much improvement in the lower ranks of conference and the big boys are still just that.
I’ll take the over. I agree that the offense will be Vastly improved. The defense ended the year ranked #11 in the country. I’m thinking top 10 defense next year. It’s all about staying healthy. It "could" be a heck of a year.
UK has a tough schedule as usual, but I think they can win 7. I think it depends also on the UK backfield showing they can run the football this year without a proven power back carrying the football in 23. Their road games are tough too, as pointed out.
