He’s only averaged 5.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in 113 career games but Keshad Johnson could be the experienced player Kentucky coach John Calipari wants/needs to help  his talented incoming freshman class.

The 6-7  Johnson has set an official visit to Kentucky starting Wednesday. The 6-7 forward from Oakland helped San Diego State reach the Final Four last season for the first time— and knock off No. 1 seed Alabama.

He averaged 7.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 22.2 minutes per game as a senior, all career highs, when he started all 39 games.

He recently listed a top five of Arizona, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and USC on social media. He has already visited Arizona, Oklahoma and USC.

Johnson has also put his name into the NBA draft and has until May 31 to withdraw from the draft and play another year of college basketball.

He’s not been a great perimeter shooter — 24.6 percent from 3-point and 61 percent at the foul line — in his career. However, the Aztecs were 108-23 in his four years and made the NCAA Tournament three times and in the national title game against UConn he went 7-for-9 from the field with a 3-pointer and had 14 points.

He had offers from Cincinnati, DePaul, Fresno State, Georgetown, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Portland and Washington State coming out of high school.
