If I was Cason Wallace’s agent I would just tell NBA teams to pay attention to what former University of Kentucky guards are doing in the NBA playoffs.

Tyrese Maxey went off for 30 points Tuesday night when the Philadelphia 76ers won at New York.

Devin Booker of Phoenix and Jamal Murray of Denver are two of the NBA’s best guards and have been going at each other in their second round matchup.

De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk were both sensational for Sacramento in their team’s first round loss to Golden State. Fox was also named to the All-NBA Third Team Wednesday after earlier making the all-star team for the first time. He was also named Clutch Player of the Year.  He averaged 25 points, 6.1 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in his sixth NBA season.

Immanuel Quickley missed the Knicks’ last game with an injury but has had a terrific second year with the Knock.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did not make the playoffs but he was named All-NBA First Team after his sensational season with Oklahoma. He was fourth in the league in scoring at 31.4 points per game and also averaged 5.5 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. He had 44 games with 30 or more points — not bad for a player who was not an immediate starter at UK.

The 6-4 Wallace averaged 11.7 points and shot 44.6 percent overall from the field at Kentucky last year. He played two guard and then took over at point guard the second half of the season.

I’ve seen him as high as No. 10 in some mock drafts and in the lottery of almost every mock draft I have seen.

As we recently learned with Kentucky quarterback Will Levis, mock drafts are not always accurate. However, with the way former Kentucky guards are playing in the NBA it sure seems like at least a team or two should be very eager to pick Wallace.

  1. After a drought Kentucky will again have those type guards. All the guys coming in are dogs and they want to prove it. Oscar would be a beast with these guys. Either way the Cats Will be back. You heard it here first folks.
