Alston and Rossario Alicea Help Lead Hoptown at Apollo Invitational

The Hopkinsville Tigers picked up 12 Top 10 finishes Saturday as they competed in the Apollo Invitational in Owensboro. The Tigers finished with 34 points, which placed them in 9th place in the team competition.

McCracken County took first place in the event, while Warren East finished second, and Apollo claimed third.

William Alston had the highest finish of the day for the Tigers, coming in second in the 400 meters.

Top 10 finishes for Hopkinsville were:

Floyd Kay – 8th place – 100 meters

Elijah Reed – 4th place – 110m hurdles

Ian Rossario Alicea – 8th place – 110m hurdles
Ian Rossario Alicea – 3rd place – 300m hurdles

William Alston – 5th place – 200 meters
William Alston – 2nd place – 400 meters

Carlo Jones – 8th place – 1 mile

Davian Simon – 10th place – Discus

Treston Kay – 10th place – Triple Jump

4×100 meter relay team – 7th place – (Johnson, F.Kay, T. Kay, Alston)
4×400 meter relay team – 4th place – (Rosario-Alicea, F. Kay, Harton, Alston)
4×800 meter relay team – 7th place – (Adams, Jeffers, Harton, Jones)
