Why is now the right time for Lexington Christian quarterback Cutter Boley to make his college choice?

He’s still technically a 2025 recruit but likely will also announce Thursday morning that he’s switching to the 2024 recruiting when he makes his college decision public. He has scheduled an 11 a.m.  press conference at his high school in Lexington and Kentucky is one of his 10 finalists.

“He wants to do it now and help recruit to where he is going because nobody can recruit like a quarterback can,” Scott Boley, Cutter’s father, said. “There are a lot of 2024 players committing now.

“He knows where he wants to go, so by committing he hopes he can pull in offensive linemen, receivers and running backs to play with him. A lot of coaches recruiting him feel he can really help draw in other players because he’s sort of made a national name for himself.”

His 10 finalists are Alabama, Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee and TCU. He took visits to Florida State, Kentucky, Notre Dame Penn State and Tennessee this spring.

Boley is a top 20 player in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 1 player in Kentucky. If he reclassifies to the 2024 class, he should still stay No. 1 in Kentucky and a top 50 national recruit. He continues to draw attention from more schools but knows where he wants to go now.

“He knows what he is doing. He just knows,” Scott Boley said. “He’s a smart kid and he’s ready to make his decision, so there’s really no reason to put it off any longer.”
