They have been a dominant force in girls doubles in the 2nd Region for the past three years. Tuesday, Allie Fort and Ella Lester sealed their place in regional tournament history with their third straight girls doubles title during the regional tournament in Henderson.

The duo was never seriously threatened in this year’s regional.

In the semifinals Tuesday, they took care of things quickly with a 6-0, 6-0 win over the Henderson County pairing of Merrick Conkright and Cameron Chandler.

That win moved them into the title match, where they would face off against Rachel McClung and Keegan Miller, of Caldwell County. McClung and Miller pushed the Hopkinsville pair a bit in the opening set before falling 6-3. The second set was all Fort and Lester as they completed the match with a 6-0 win.

Fort and Lester have now won the doubles title in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and almost had a fourth title back in 2019 as they lost in the championship match.

After their championship win, YSE spoke with the three-time champions about the win and another trip to the state tennis tournament.
