
Crittenden County’s track and field team finished in seventh place at the Region 1 Meet Thursday at Mayfield High School and had one champion.
The top two finishers at the region automatically advance to the state meet, while the next ten best times/distances statewide also advance.
Crittenden County scored 24 points to edge Dawson Springs by one point for seventh.
FIELD EVENTS
Rowen Perkins won the long jump (19-01.50) and will advance to the state meet. He also finished sixth in the triple jump (36-08).
Devon Carr finished second in the discus throw (75-01).
Nate Faith was fifth in the high jump (5-06).
Seth Henry was 16th in the shot put (25-04), and Glenn Starkey was 17th (23-00).
SPRINTS
Jordan Hardesty finished in 14th place in the 100-meter dash (12.41) and Devon Carr was 18th (13.08). Hardesty was 12th in the 200 meters (25.38).
Kaleb Nesbitt was seventh in the 400 meters (56.31) and Preston Morgeson was 10th (57.25).
HURDLES
Ethan Long finished in seventh place in the 300-meter hurdles (50.34) and came in ninth place in the 110-meter hurdles (21.17)
MIDDLE DISTANCE
Kaleb Nesbitt finished fourth in the 800 meters (2:13.23) and Preston Morgeson was sixth (2:14.64).
Colt Belt was 13th in the 1600 meters (5:47.96) and River Rogers was 14th (5:49.29).
Ethan Gossard was 11th in the 3200 meters (12:47.83).
Rogers was also 13th in the 3200 meters (13:32.88) and Landon Starkey was 14th (14:02.57).
RELAYS
The 1600-meter relay team of Rowen Perkins, Jordan Hardesty, Preston Morgeson, and Kaleb Nesbitt finished in third place (3:45.44).
GIRLS
The Lady Rockets will send at least three people to the state track and field meet next week in Lexington following their top two finishes at the Region 1 Meet at Mayfield High School Thursday.

The Lady Rockets finished fourth as a team with 48 points, six more than fifth place Fulton County and 18 points behind third-place St. Mary.
FIELD EVENTS
Payton Maness won the high jump with a height of 4-10. Payton Hall finished third at 4-06.
In the discus throw, Karsyn Potter came in second place with a heave of 98 feet, 7 inches. She also finished in fourth place in the shot put (26-09).
Leauna West was fifth in the discus throw (75-09) and was 10th in the shot put (23-03).
Ella Geary finished eighth in the long jump (12-05), and Susana Suggs (12-02.50) was ninth.
SPRINTS
Kylie Bloodworth finished in 14th place in the 100-meter dash (15.81) and Callie Rich was 18th (16.12). In the 200 meters, Rich came in 12th place (33.85) and Bloodworth was 13th (34.37).
Presley Potter was 12th in the 400-meter run (1:15.61).
MIDDLE DISTANCE
Mary Martinez finished in third place in the 3200-meter run (13:43.59) and Aubrey Grau was fourth (14:01.70).
Ella Geary finished sixth in the 800-meter run (2:48.41).
HURDLES
Susana Suggs came in ninth place in the 100-meter hurdles (23.57) and ninth in the 300-meter hurdles (1:06.95).
RELAYS
The 3200-meter relay team finished in fourth place (11:27.66), and the 1600-meter relay team also finished fourth (5:06.81).
