Lyon County’s Dalton Phillips and Jackson Crawford were obviously disappointed after dropping their first-round match at the state tennis tournament on Tuesday.
The Lyon duo lost a narrow decision to the Madisonville-North Hopkins team of Braeden Bell and Ethan Larkins 7-5, 6-4.
It was one of very few losses this season for Phillips and Crawford, who won their way to the No. 1 doubles seed at the 2nd Region tournament before finishing as regional runners-up.
YSE spoke with the Lyons after their state tournament match in Nicholasville.
