Caldwell County’s A.J. Hollowell has been named honorable mention all-state by the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.
Hollowell was one of the 2nd Region’s top defensive players this past season, making numerous highlight-reel catches in centerfield for Caldwell.
She also hit a team-high .475 at the plate as the Lady Tigers went 18-13 in 2023 and reached the championship game of the 2nd Region tournament.
Hollowell, a senior, led Caldwell with 48 base hits and was second on the team in stolen bases with 21.
She was named to the Class 2A honorable mention list.
Hollowell was one of only four 2nd Region players to make the coaches’ all-state teams.
Henderson County’s Taylor Troutman was first team in Class 3A while Brenna Sherman of Madisonville-North Hopkins was second team in 3A.
Webster County’s Chloe Papineau joined Hollowell on the honorable mention list in 2A.
Hollowell announced on Friday that she will be playing her college softball at Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Illinois.
