It was about five weeks ago that offensive lineman Jadon Lafontant got a scholarship offer from Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Coen but Monday he made his verbal commitment to the Wildcats.

The 6-3, 315-pound Lafontant is from Old Greenwich, Conn., and plays for Brunswick School (teammate Matty Augustine, a 2025 offensive lineman, also has a UK offer).

He chose the Wildcats over Pitt, Illinois, Boston College, Duke, Vanderbilt, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Charlotte, Dartmouth, Monmouth, Temple and Old Dominion.

Lafontant joins in-state players Hayes Johnson and Abe Selm as 2024 offensive line commitments.

On his recent official visit, the Connecticut lineman impressed UK coaches with his athleticism — he wrestles and made the Connecticut state tournament in that sport.

His versatility would seem to make him suited to play guard in Coen’s offense because of his versatility and athleticism.
