A team tennis title will be up for grabs for high schools beginning with the 2024 season.
The KHSAA approved the adoption of boys’ and girls’ tennis team state championships that will coincide with the individual tournament. It’s expected to work much like the regional level where teams get points for matches won with the point system used to determine a team champion.
In a survey of schools conducted by the KHSAA, 136 schools said they would participate in a team championship in 2023. 27 schools said they would participate if the format began in 2024 and 78 schools don’t play tennis.
