He had a bevy of high Division I offers but Ohio defensive back Terhyon Nichols picked Kentucky Sunday over Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Pittsburgh, his other finalists.
The 6-0, 180-pound Nichols naturally was recruited by UK recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow, an Ohio native with non-stop ties to players in Ohio. He had 25 Power 5 offers, including Alabama, Tennessee and Notre Dame.
Nichols, who has an impressive 4.55 grade-point average, had made it clear he liked both Marrow and UK defensive backs coach Chris Collins.
How good is Nichols?
The 247Sports Composite has him ranked as the nation’s 23rd best cornerback and 274th best prospect overall. He is the first consensus top 300 defensive back that coach Mark Stoops has ever recruited at Kentucky.
Marrow has signed current NFL star Mike Edwards and current UK player Alex Afari out of the same Cincinnati area as Nichols but neither one was ranked as high as him.
Marrow has also offered his talented teammate at Withrow High School, 2025 wide receiver Quintin Simmons Jr.
Kentucky has 12 commitments in its 2024 recruiting class.

4.55 gpa. Very impressive compliment to his obvious football talents
This year’s roster is set in stone. I think we are capable of 9 win season if everything goes right. And if we can win a turnovers battle in a couple key games maybe 10 regular season wins. I know it’s early but I’m worried about next year who will be the starting qb and if Leary gets hurt where do we turn? Wade should be better after he was thrown to the wolves against the nation’s best defense with no offensive line. Same goes for Sheron* Levis was hurt because as soon as the ball was snapped he had 2 defenders on him. I know the line will be night and day better but if injuries occur which it seems like they always do I just hope key players can stay healthy. If not and Leary gets the injury bug then our season will probably be doomed. Stoops need to get both backups alot of snaps in the first 4 games which we should win easily. It seems like every year we start put great 3-0 or 4-0 sometimes 5-0. Then after that the car hydroplanes and we drop 60-70% of our games after the midway point. We should pass the ball 60/40 which to me equals more rushing yards when we do run the football. Ray Davis is nice is think his backup is nice too. I look for the dark horse Lavell Wright to surprise alot of people. Another rb I can see make a splash is true freshman out of Georgia. He had a 3 page scholarship list. Our WRs will be fine as long as they hit the weight room and gain about 10 pounds of muscle. Brown is lighting fast but he’s not very slippery and when someone gets there hand on him he’s down. Key is a little more powerful but he still needs to put on 5-10 pounds of muscle. What’s funny to me is everyone was comparing tayvion robinson to wandale robinson. He looked the part the first 2 or 3 games but I looked at his stats even at Virginia tech and he doesn’t perform as well against top 50 teams. If he can get a little bit better and you throw anthony brown in there we should have a dynamic receiving core. As long as we don’t get a sophomore slump which I don’t see. Dekel Crowdus would have been a 30 reception 300 yards kind of receiver this year but it looks like his year is over before it got started. Also look for a breakout year from Kattus Dingle and Cummings. Coen loves fast and shifty TEs. I see Ray Davis running for 800 yards in a crowded backfield. I think Wright will run for 350. I can’t think of the freshman name but I think he will run for 200+. We will also have a top 10 defense so as long as we can score 30 points or more a game we will win 10 games or more. If we average 20-27 points a game a 8-9 win season and so on. 🌬
