Hoppers Held to 2 Hits in 8-4 Loss at Full Count

The Full Count Rhythm ran out to a 6-0 lead and turned back the Hoptown Hoppers 8-4 in Ohio Valley League action Saturday night in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Four Rhythm pitchers combined to two-hit the Hoppers.

Down 8-1, Hoptown did try to scratch its way back into the game with a three-run eighth inning.
A bases-loaded walk by Reid Douglas and a groundout by John Keibler brought in two runs. Tate VanHooser scored on a passed ball with two outs, but the Hoppers could get no closer than 8-4.

Stephen Bell was 1-for-5 with an RBI while Dom Oliverio was 1-for-3 and scored a run for Hoptown.

Elliott Bray was the winning pitcher for Full Count. He went four innings without giving up a run or a hit while striking out six. Marshall Raper tossed the final 1.1 innings without a run or a hit while picking up the save.

Drew Robertson was 2-for-3 at the plate and scored three times for the Rhythm. Reece Holbrook was 2-for-5 and drove in two.

Hoptown remains in fifth place in the OVL South Division standings at 14-19. The Hoppers are 11.5 games behind the first place Rhythm. At 27-9, Full Count has a 5.5-game lead on the second-place Paducah Chiefs.

Hoptown will play at home Sunday at 6:00, facing the Fulton Railroaders at Christian County High School.
