PHOTOS – 2023 Caldwell County Tennis Awards

After a strong 2023 season on the courts, the Caldwell County tennis program recognized its top performers on Sunday in an awards ceremony in the Fine Arts Theatre at CCHS.

Caldwell’s guys won the 2nd Region championship for the third year in a row while Caldwell’s girls were region runners-up in 2023.

The Tigers had Tri-MVPs. Regional champions Ryan Hammett, Grayden Miller and Nick Adams were each named Most Valuable Player.

Other boys’ awards presented went to Miller and Adams, Best Doubles Award; Hammett, Best Singles Award; Kameron Maroney, 110% Award; Noah Bailey, Coach’s Award; Cannon Littlejohn, Tiger Award; and Cason Littlejohn, Most Improved Award.

For the ladies, Rachel McClung was named the Lady Tiger Most Valuable Player.

McClung and Keegan Miller received the Best Doubles Award while Josie Shaffer was presented the Best Singles Award.

Other girls’ awards included Emma Peake, 110% Award and Avery Ritchey, Coach’s Award,

Ella Johnson and Meleah Greenfield each received Most Improved Awards.

The Lady Tigers also presented First Win Awards to Troy Freeman in singles and Jayden Lamb and Addison Robinson in doubles.

Caldwell also recognized five players who were named to the 2023 All-Region Team: Rachel McClung, Keegan Miller, Nick Adams, Grayden Miller and Ryan Hammett.
