A young Christian County Colonels’ golf team got the 2023 season underway Friday. The Colonels were at Ben Hawes State Park in Owensboro to play in the Daviess County Invitational.
Christian County finished the day with a team score of 379. That score put the Colonels in 17th place for the event.
Bowling Green claimed the team title, winning by 13 strokes. The Purples had a team score of 296. Marshall County finished second with a 309. Madisonvillle-North Hopkins took third place, one shot behind Marshall County with a 310.
Drew Fincham had the low round of the day for the Colonels. Fincham finished with an 89.
Bowling Green’s Reed Richey took medalist honors with a sizzling round of 64. Grant Broughton, of Daviess County, was second with a round of 69.
