
Collin Whittington shot a 9-over-par 81 to lead Caldwell County’s golfers in their season-opening action in the Henderson County Invitational Golf Tournament on Monday.
The Tigers finished with a team score of 365 on the Henderson Country Club course.
Cole Wyatt carded the second-lowest round of the day for Caldwell with a 90. Ryan Hammett had a 93.
Scott Cortner and Cruz Egbert each shot 101.
Ohio County won the team title with a 317. Madisonville-North Hopkins was runner-up, just one shots back.
D.J. Morris of Marshall County claimed medalist honors with the only under-par round of the day with a 2-under 70. McCracken County’s Landon Hunt was runner-up with a 73. Muhlenberg County’s Heath Embrey was third at 74.
Caldwell’s golfers will play in the Marshall County Invitational at Calvert City Golf & Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
