It was a day of good news and bad news for Trigg County sophomore Emma Dowell following her round at the Class 2A Sectional Thursday.
Dowell shot a career-best score of 92 at the Breckinridge Golf and Country Club. Her score was good enough for a third-place tie, but only the top two golfers qualify for the Class 2A State Tournament. Dowell qualified last year and finished in 30th place.
Reilyn Berthume added a 117 for the Lady Wildcats.
Calloway County’s Javen Campbell took medalist honors with a round of 80, one shot better than Paducah Tilghman’s McCall Moore.
Union County took the team title with a 409. Webster County finished in second place.
