Trigg’s Haydon Reynolds Wins Class 2A Sectional Golf Title

A Trigg County golfer has earned the chance to compete for a state championship later this season. Haydon Reynolds earned the right to play for the Class 2A Boys Golf state championship by winning the Class 2A sectional Thursday in ‘toasty’ conditions in Union County.

Reynolds finished his round Thursday at the Breckinridge Golf Course, in Morganfield with a score of 75 to pick up medalist honors. Micah Koenecke, of Calloway County, finished in second place with a 77.

He is now qualified for the boys’ Kentucky 2A Championship state tournament, which will be played in Owensboro, on September 11.

Ethan Curling opened his season for Trigg County with a round of 99.

In the team competition, Paducah Tilghman claimed first place to qualify for the state tournament.
