Heritage Begins KHSAA Volleyball Journey at Bluegrass State Games

With their first season as full members of the KHSAA about to get underway, the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors took part in one of the state’s premiere preseason volleyball events over the weekend. HCA was in Lexington for the annual Bluegrass State Events.

Play began Friday for the Lady Warriors with the first of two days of pool play. Heritage dropped both of their matches in the pool, losing to Martha Layne Collin 21-16 and 21-9, and then falling to Pikeville 21-10 and 21-6.

The Saturday pool play schedule found HCA starting off with 3rd Region power Apollo The Lady Warriors had their struggles against Apollo, falling to the E-Gals 21-5 and 21-7. Heritage would then fall to Garrard County 21-15 and 21-9. The Lady Warriors upended the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers 21-17 and 21-17. HCA finished out falling to Christian Fellowship 21-14 and 21-19 to finish their day of pool play at 1-3.

The results of the two days of pool play placed the Lady Warriors in the Varsity Flight 9 bracket, where they faced a first-round matchup against Louisville Eastern. It turned out to be a tough final day for the Lady Warriors as Eastern rolled to a 21-4, 21-9 win.

HCA finishes their weekend at the Bluegrass State Games with a record of 1-6.
