Kentucky fans found time on Sunday afternoon to visit the Lexington Kroger on Beaumont Centre Circle because UK basketball players Justin Edwards, Tre Mitchell, Walker Horn and Kareem Watkins were there signing autograph as part of the La Familia Autograph Tour.
Four more players — Reed Sheppard, Jordan Burks, Aaron Bradshaw and Grant Darbyshire — were signing autographs at the Versailles Kroger at the same time.
A portion of net proceeds along with all sponsor proceeds from Kroger and Simple Truth will benefit the Mayfield Flood Relief mission as fans paid $60 per person to get one item autographed by four players.
Photographer Vicky Graff said the players “were having fun with fans and each other” at the Lexington stop. She noted there was a line when the players started signing at 2 p.m. but the line thinned out in about 30 minutes.
The Lexington turnout was a bit larger than the one at Versailles but fans there also enjoyed getting pictures taken with the players, especially Reed Sheppard, and having items signed.
