Another golf match, another personal best score for Emma Dowell.
The Trigg County High School sophomore shot a 91 Tuesday at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club Girls Invitational, knocking one stroke off her previous personal best set last week at the Class 2A Sectional at Union County.
Dowell took advantage of an early tee time to hit the course before the heat of the day set in and putt on slower greens due to the dew.
Greens weren’t an issue on the par-5 sixth hole as a chip-in from 50 yards gave her a birdie. She went out at 46 and came back in one shot better with a 45.
Her score of 91 was good for a 21st-place tie.
Karra Tucker of Madisonville-North Hopkins shot a two-under-par 69 to win the individual title by five shots over Marshall County’s Katie Roberts.
