
University Heights Academy continues to improve its consistency from top to bottom, which resulted in a sixth-place finish at Tuesday’s Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club Invitational.
UHA’s team score of 394 was 15 shots better than McCracken County and 39 better than Owensboro Catholic. They trailed Murray by just seven shots.
Marshall County, playing without defending state champion Trinity Beth, won the team title with a score of 312, defeating second-place Madisonville-North Hopkins by 30 shots.
Conlee Lindsey led the way for the Lady Blazers with a round of 81, which put her eighth place on the final score sheet.
The junior opened at even par through her first five holes. She wobbled a bit with four straight birdies but bounced back with two straight pars to open the back nine. She went out at 39 and shot a 42 on the back nine, ending her round with three straight pars.
Allie Sandifer opened strong with a par and birdie on her first two holes. She shot a 47 on the front nine and finished with a 98, good for a tie for 29th place.
Campbell Lindsey notched a par on No. 10 as part of her round of 105. Caroline Tucker, in her first season on the team, shot a 110, and Ava Roberts shook off adversity throughout the day to gut out a 125.
Karra Tucker of Madisonville-North Hopkins shot a two-under-par 69 to win the individual title by five shots over Marshall County’s Katie Roberts.
