The Christian County Colonels how head off into the soccer regular season following Thursday night’s scrimmage win over the Russellville Panthers at the Stadium of Champions. The Colonels controlled the pace of play from the beginning and allowed the Panthers very few looks at the net as they rolled to a 4-0 win.

The Colonels got on the board early on at the 4:00 mark when Leland Creamer found the net, giving Christian County a 1-0 lead. The Colonels struggled a bit to find their offensive rhythm for the rest of the half as the score was still 1-0 at the break.

Bryan Linares helped get the offense on track coming out of the gate in the second half. Linares found the net just two minutes in giving Christian County a 2-0 lead. Leland Creamer added his second goal of the night at the 69:20 mark to extend the lead to 3-0. R.J. Nolte capped off the scoring with a goal in the final two minutes to give Christian County the 4-0 win.

It was the second shutout win for the Colonels in their two scrimmages. Christian County picked up a solid 2-0 road win at Graves County. In addition to Mason Malone pitching the shutout in goal, the Colonels had goals from Christian Lopez at the 10:00 and Noah Davis at the 47:00.

Christian County will officially open the 2023 season Monday when they host Franklin-Simpson at the Stadium of Champions.
