After reaching the regional final in 2022, the Trigg County Lady Wildcats are looking to keep their team at those new heights. Or maybe, Hites would be more appropriate for the 2023 season.
Leiah Hite and Lania Hite combined to score five goals Friday evening as the Lady Wildcats took a 6-2 scrimmage win over new school Clarksville Kirkwood.
Kirkwood broke on top 1-0, but Trigg responded with goals from Leiah Hite, Braylyn Harper, and Lania Hite to take a 3-1 lead.
After the Lady Cobras scored to cut the lead to 3-2, the Lady Wildcats responded to lock up the match. Trigg got scores from Leiah Hite, Lania Hite, and then Leiah again, as they pushed the lead out to 6-2.
The Lady Wildcats are set to open the season Monday evening when they travel to Mayfield.
