The Madisonville-North Hopkins boys’ golf team captured the team championship of the Owensboro Catholic Invitational Monday at Owensboro Country Club.
Gavin Sheets tied for third individually while Austin Crick tied for fourth to lead the Maroons.
Last Thursday, Madisonville placed third as a team in the McLean County Invitational at Panther Creek Golf Course near Owensboro.
Sheets and Crick each shot 71s in that tournament. Max Clayton carded a 74.
On Friday, the Maroons were ninth in the Christian County Invitational at Western Hills Golf Course in Hopkinsville.
Jake Witherspoon shot a team-leading 76 on Friday, which was his best score ever in a high school tournament.
Madisonville’s “Team 2” also played well at Western Hills, finishing 14th in the 19-team event.
