The Caldwell County Tiger football team played its final preseason scrimmage at Owensboro Apollo on Thursday night but dropped a 19-7 decision in three quarters of varsity action.
Apollo built a 19-0 lead early, using a long run on third down for a touchdown and returning a fumble for a score while putting up three touchdowns in the first quarter.
The Tigers will kick off the regular season in one week, going to Hopkins County Central on Friday, Aug.18.
