Caldwell County’s Collin Whittington claimed medalist honors with a 36 but Lyon County won the team competition by two shots in Thursday’s golf match at The Cullan at Mineral Mound State Park in Eddyville.
Whittington edged Travis Perry by a single stroke for the individual championship, but the Lyons’ took the team score 169-171.
Lyon’s Brady Shoulders was third individually with a 42.
Other Caldwell scores saw Cole Wyatt shoot 43, Ryan Hammett 45, Scott Cortner 47 and Carter Whittington 51.
For Lyon, Cooper Collins, Jack Reddick and Carson Collins each carded rounds of 45 while Grant Wiggins shot 46.
Both teams will be in action on Saturday at the Paducah Tilghman Invitational at Paxton Park.
Lyon County’s girls scrambled alongside the boys’ match on Thursday. Lady Lyons playing were Lilly Perry, Jenna Coursey, Gracen Wynn and Brenna Breitrick.
