
The Fort Campbell Falcons will be looking to find their offensive footing as the 2023 football season opens next Friday night after being blanked in two two-quarter scrimmages during the Border Wars Jamboree Friday evening at Fryar Stadium. The Falcons dropped contests with Clarksville Northeast and West Creek.
In the opener against Clarksville Northeast, the Falcons were held to under 40 yards of total offense as they fell 10-0. Northeast scored on a 7-yard touchdown run and a 22-yard field goal in the opening quarter. Northeast outgained Fort Campbell 198 to 38 and held the Falcons to just two first downs.
The offensive struggles continued into the second scrimmage of the evening for the Falcons. West Creek held the Falcons to just 20 yards of total offense, all of them on the ground, on their way to a 21-0 win. West Creek scored on a 49-yard run late in the first quarter. They would add a 4-yard run and a 66-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.
Fort Campbell actually had one more first down than West Creek, but was outgained 202-20.
The Falcons now get ready to open the 2023 season next Friday night when they go on the road to take on Clarksville Northwest.
