The Lyon County Lady Lyons are headed to the semifinal round of the 2nd Region All A Classic girls soccer tournament following action Monday night at Lee S. Jones Park. The Lady Lyons got four goals from Alice Smith and hat tricks from Anna White and Olivia Adams as they rolled past the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons 10-0.
Anna White scored just three minutes into the match and the Lady Lyons were off and running, or more like splashing, as field conditions were soggy at best on the pitch at the park.
Alice Smith scored the first of her four goals, all of which came in the first half at the 15:30 mark to make it 2-0. Smith scored again at 23:30 when the Fort Campbell keeper made a defensive move towards her while she was attacking the net and Smith was able to push the shot past her to extend the lead to 3-0. She scored on a run down the middle at 32:00 to make it 4-0.
Anna White scored for the second time of the half at 34:00 and then Smith scored off a nice assist with less than three minutes to go in the half to make it a 6-0 Lyon County lead at the break.
Olivia Adams got things started in the second half with a goal on the rebound of a missed shot from Alice Smith and made it 7-0. Adams then scored on two penalty kicks in the three-minute span to run the lead out to 9-0. Anna White finished off the match with a goal at the 69:00 mark.
In addition to the offensive attack, Lyon County got solid defensive minutes from Anna Crawford, Bailey Breitrick, and Marley Norwood.
For the Lady Falcons, while they did not score, there were some nice moments for Daniela Hernandez, who gave the Lady Falcons a couple of chances to find the net. On defense, Angela Glynn and Leanne Archbell gave a solid effort for Fort Campbell.
Lyon County improves to 2-0-1 on the season, while Fort Campbell drops to 0-2.
