Despite dropping the first set on Thursday against visiting Trigg County, the Fort Campbell volleyball team used strong service to knock off the Lady Wildcats for the tenth-straight time in the series.

Trigg found some breathing room in a tight first set with a 7-2 run to lead 23-18 after back-to-back aces by Grace White.  The 25-20 win was the first set the Lady Wildcats have taken over Fort Campbell in four matches.

However, Fort Campbell’s Emily Ramsey served nine-straight points to start the second and force a Trigg timeout.  The Lady Wildcats closed to within three points after White capped a 6-1 run with an ace, but Fort Campbell used an 11-4 spurt to win 25-15.

The Lady Falcons squeaked out a 25-22 decision in the third, with Kayla Maslonka providing a pair of aces to put them in front for good.

Up 2-1, Fort Campbell led throughout the final set, jumping out to a 10-3 advantage and holding off a late rally for a 25-15 win.

Trigg County slipped to 1-2 with a visit from Murray High scheduled for Monday.

The Lady Falcons earned their first win to even their record ahead of an early season showdown with Hopkinsville on Tuesday.  Fort Campbell snapped a 13-game losing streak in the series with a pair of victories over the Lady Tigers last season.
