The Trigg County girls’ soccer team remained unbeaten and picked up its second-straight shutout with a 9-0 win over Paducah Tilghman in Thursday’s Kentucky 2A – Section 1 quarterfinal.

The Lady Wildcats have outscored teams 35-4 to move to 4-0 and advance to a semifinal matchup with Webster County on Tuesday at Union County. It’s Trigg County’s first 4-0 start in program history.

Leiah and Lania Hite each found the back of the net in the first ten minutes to get the Lady Wildcats started.  Leiah finished a first-half hat trick with goals off assists by Addison Humphries and Brooke Humphries.

Just after the halftime break, Addison picked up her second assist with a pass to Lania to make it 5-0.  Addison got on the scoresheet just a minute later, and Lania got her hat trick on a header off a pass from her sister with 35 minutes left.

Camryn Boone found the back of the net with just over three minutes to play, and Addison capped a two-goal, two-assist match with a penalty kick in the dying moments.

Anna Sink made three saves in goal for the Lady Wildcats.

I think we possessed the ball very well. We’ve been working on playing through the back and hitting the central part of the field and then catching ourselves on an attack,” Trigg coach Jason Hite said.
Before Tuesday’s Class 2A Sectional semifinal, Trigg County will play at Lyon County Monday.
