University Heights Academy and Caldwell County made history on Saturday, playing the first boys’ high school soccer match at Crittenden County.
The Blazers made more history by claiming their fourth-straight 2nd Region All A Classic championship, turning back the Tigers 5-1 at the Marion City Park.
Sophomore Lincoln Hauret had a hat trick for the Blazers (3-3-1), who never trailed after scoring two goals inside the first 5 minutes of the contest.
Griffin McCoy scored with help from Clayton Lester just over a minute into the game.
Lester then scored off an assist from Logan Miller on a corner kick to make it 2-0 early in the match.
Two more goals late in the first half sent UHA sent to the break with a 4-0 lead.
Hauret had both of those tallies, using a McCoy assist for his first goal, then getting help from Miller on the second.
Caldwell (2-3) got on the scoreboard early in the second half when Timothy Nichols converted on a penalty kick after being fouled in the box.
Hauret finished off a loose ball in the box at the other end in the 50th minute for his third goal of the night to make it 5-1.
Que Quarles needed to make just one save in the net for the Blazers.
Corbin Nichols made 12 stops in the Caldwell net.
Crittenden hosted the All A regional final. However, that school does not offer boys’ soccer, only girls’ soccer.
University Heights will visit 1st Region All A champion Murray at a date to be determined. The winner of that match advances to the state All A Classic Sept. 23-24 in Louisville.
