While Heritage Christian Academy has been competitive in each of its first three matches of the season, one can understand why Coach Grace Stewart may be anxious to see that translate into wins for her young volleyball squad.

The Lady Warriors fell to Murray in four sets Saturday afternoon (25-23, 16-25, 21-25, 21-25) at Warrior Gym to drop to 0-3.

It’s good experience for a Lady Warrior roster that doesn’t feature any juniors or seniors, and Stewart knows the bumps they encounter early should turn into a smoother path later in the season.

Heritage took a close first set 25-23 but Murray was able to rally to take the victory in the first match between the schools.

Katie Cansler had a season-high 12 kills and added five aces and 16 digs.

Bralee Fowler continued her improvement at the net with six kills, four aces, and 12 digs

Hadlee Hayes had four kills and 15 digs, and Allie Craft added 12 digs for the Lady Warriors.

HCA will travel to Todd County Central Monday and host Foundation Christian Tuesday ahead of its Thursday district showdown with University Heights Academy.
