University Heights Academy sent two runners to the starting line for Saturday’s Christian County Cross Country Opener on the grounds of Hopkinsville Community College and Christian County High School.
Freshman Jude Finch was the first Blazer to cross the finish line in the varsity race in 65th place. His time was 21:53 seconds. Jack Cavanah finished in 107th place. Also a freshman, he covered the 3.1-mile course in 25:49.
Webster County’s Brice Nelson won the race in 17:14, crossing the finish line nine seconds ahead of teammate Preston Glassco.
