
Caldwell County’s volleyball team faced a stiff early-season test on Saturday, taking on strong teams from the 1st and 4th Regions.
The Lady Tigers fell to Greenwood 25-8, 25-7, 25-12 before dropping a 25-12, 25-19, 25-11 decision to host McCracken County, which is ranked 14th in the state.
Against Greenwood (9-2), the Lady Tigers got three kills each from Brylee Butts and Morgan Aikins. Aikins also had two digs while Butts had a block.
Chevy McGowan and Ellie Ramey each had two kills with McGowan also recording two digs.
Rylee Thompson had seven assists and a block.
Against McCracken (5-1), Ramey had four kills and two aces. Butts had two kills and three blocks while Benashka Thomas had two kills.
T.J. Goodwin had seven digs and two aces.
Thompson and Med Thomas each tallied four assists. Thomas also had two blocks.
Aikins had four digs.
Caldwell is 1-2 all-time against Greenwood and 0-3 against McCracken.
The Lady Tigers are 2-3 this season. They will go to Muhlenberg County on Tuesday.
