Madisonville-North Hopkins ran up 469 yards of total offense Friday night while routing Caldwell County 54-6 at Maroon Stadium.
Junior quarterback Kanyon Johnson and sophomore running back Markezz Hightower had big nights for the Maroons.
Johnson ran for 112 yards and passed for another 117 while having a hand in four touchdowns.
Hightower ran for 122 yards and two scores.
Caldwell, meanwhile, was held to just 53 total yards. The Tigers managed eight first downs in the contest — six of those the results of Madisonville penalties.
Hightower scored on a 9-yard run in the first quarter to give Madisonville an early 6-0 lead.
Caldwell tried to keep the game close early, but three Maroon touchdowns in the second period helped the hosts build a 28-0 lead.
Johnson’s 1-yard touchdown run made it a 12-0 game.

Hightower added a 7-yard scoring carry to help stretch the margin to 20-0.
A 5-yard scoring toss from Johnson to Anias Mitchell helped put the Maroons in control at 28-0.
Caldwell tried to gain some momentum late in the first half.
A low snap on a Madisonville punt allowed Caldwell to tackle the punter at the Maroon 20-yard line.
Luke Parker cashed that in with a 9-yard touchdown scramble with 20 seconds left in the half, getting the Tigers within 28-6 at the break.
But Caldwell (0-2) just could not generate much offense while Madisonville (1-1) seemed to gain yardage in chunks.
A 25-yard scoring run by Johnson in the third quarter made it a 34-6 game.
Johnson and Mitchell hooked up for the second time on a 30-yard scoring pass to make it 42-6 with 4:35 left in the third quarter. That pushed the margin to the 36-point mercy rule and resulted in a running clock the rest of the night.
With reserves in the game in the fourth quarter, James-Michael Davis scored on a 2-yard run to push Madisonville’s lead to 48-6.

Davis later broke free for a 38-yard scoring run to finish up the scoring and make it 54-6.
Davis ran for 78 yards in relief.
With wins over Caldwell each of the last two seasons, the Maroons have edged back ahead in the all-time series 16-15.
Friday’s game did not kick off until 8:05 p.m. due to the hot weather.
Madisonville goes to Hopkins County Central next week while Caldwell will play at home for the first time next Friday against Union County.
