Henderson County scored five goals in each half while defeating Caldwell County 10-0 Tuesday night in boys’ soccer action in Princeton.
Henderson netted the game-ending goal in the 79th minute to end the match on the 10-goal mercy rule.
The contest would have ended much sooner if not for numerous sterling saves in the Caldwell net by Corbin Nichols, who did his best to keep Henderson from reaching the mercy rule.
The Colonels are now 4-1-1, with that one loss being a 1-0 decision to McCracken County in the season opener.
Cole Branson had a four-goal night for Henderson while Jack Gentry found the net three times.
Alex Bowley scored twice and Cameron Vick had one goal.
Bowley, Elliott Pryor and Jack Joyner each had two assists. Branson, Dominik Heitkemper and Carson Weiss each had one helper.
Carsen Emmick picked up the shutout in the net.
Henderson is now 6-0 all-time against Caldwell.
The Tigers will play at home again on Thursday, facing Muhlenberg County.
